Children learn best through play, active exploration of their environments, and positive shared experiences with their caregivers. Knowing this, we’ve designed our program to center on shared learning experiences that are meaningful and engaging. We take an intentional approach to provide young children with a carefully structured curriculum that focuses on all areas of development. Our program encompasses a Biblical worldview where Biblical truths and the love of Jesus are interwoven into our daily learning.

The King’s Academy Preschool utilizes a research-driven, teacher-created curriculum that is aligned with the Florida Early Learning Standards. Our curriculum focuses on the development of the whole child and is intentionally structured to allow for sequential learning of academic concepts and skills. Play is used as a vehicle to help children cultivate developmentally appropriate skills in all areas of development, and learning activities are differentiated based on each child’s developmental needs and abilities ensuring that each child experiences success in a challenging and stimulating environment. In all areas of development, teaching comes from a Biblical worldview. Biblical truths and the love of Jesus are woven into all that is done each day.

Our Approach to Learning

  • Two-Year-Old Program

Our two-year-old program focuses on the development of self-regulation and self-help skills. Special attention is given to helping children identify and communicate their emotions and to helping children communicate their overall needs. Foundational academic skills are introduced to children through play-based activities. Many opportunities are provided to allow children to explore and investigate their environment and interact with nurturing caregivers who are responsive to their needs.

  • Three-Year-Old Program

Our three-year-old program is designed specifically to allow children to build on the foundational skills established in the two-year-old program. Greater structure is introduced to the children’s routine, daily activities, and overall schedule. Academic concepts are introduced in the areas of Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Inquiry, and Creative Expression through the Arts. Children are taught and encouraged to be respectful, productive citizens in their classroom community.

  • Four-Year-Old Program

Our four-year-old program is an academically rigorous program designed to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. Academic instruction is provided in the areas of Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Inquiry, and Creative Expression through the Arts. Children are expected to work independently at times; and they are expected to participate as respectful, contributing members of their classroom community. Academic and self-help skills are honed at this level to equip young children with the skills needed to successfully navigate the rigor of kindergarten.
